How we show menus
Shops that join Cafe Lineup manage their own menus, which update from their Square register. For shops that haven't joined yet, we may show a simple version of the menu published on the shop's own website, so people can see what's on offer before they go.
What we show
- Item names, sizes and prices, as the shop published them
- Diet labels (vegan, gluten-free and so on) only when the shop's menu says so
- A link back to the shop's site and the date we last checked it
We don't copy descriptions, photos or menu designs, and imported menus can't be ordered from. Menus we can't re-check within 90 days are taken down automatically.
Our menu reader (CafeLineupBot)
Our reader identifies itself as CafeLineupBot (it used to be called CoffeeMapBot, and we honor rules for either name), only visits a shop's own website (never ordering or delivery platforms), follows robots.txt, waits between requests, and checks each site about once a month. To keep it off your site, add this to your robots.txt:
